Memory Writing

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing my memory writing. We had to think what our highlight was at sockburn/wigram school. Then we had think what our favorite memory was, since I had only had been here for 2 years I had limited memory's. Everything I tried to think of a funny memory it always went to my old school. Anyway here is my writing :D.

Hi, my name is Kezia Binoy. I’m a year 6 going to Aidanfield next year.

I remember when I first came to the school. It was the year 2019. I was a teeny tiny 9 year old, confused and scared. I sat in a chair waving my mum and dad goodbye. I look to the side and meet my new friends.

A few months pass and then camp comes along. At camp there was a HUGE water slide, a rock climb, delicious food and much more. Before I knew it, the year was coming to an end and all my friends were leaving which meant I’d have to make friends. But then athletes  came and I did better than I thought, I had come first in sprints which meant I could go to zones! I was so excited because no one in our family had gone to zones, even my sister! When I went to zones I got 6th from 10 people! It was a very proud moment for me. Anyway I had read in the newsletter that we were getting new teachers, I was sad but also quite excited!

Finally 2020 came and I met my 2 new amazing teachers, Mrs Lee and Miss bunting, along with Mr Williams and the fabulous Mrs T. (don't worry Mr Williams I won't forget you.) I love all of you guys and will never forget you!

Thanks,

Kezia

Thanks guys for reading this! I hope to see you in the next one, BYEEEEEEEEEE!!

How to make chocolate

Hi guys,

Today I'll be sharing my writing work with you. This week we did explanation writing, we had 3 different explanation writings. I did how to make chocolate. It was a very interesting subject to learn about, i learned that Chocolate factories make 1,600-2000 chocolate bars a day. First we had to plan in our book and then we had to write in a google doc. Here it is!

WALT: We are leaning to write an explanation.

How to make Chocolate

Chocolate is something everyone loves. It's in milk shakes, candy bars, cookies and cereals. What makes chocolate into dark chocolate and milk chocolate? It's cocoa butter. Different cocoa butter changes milk into dark. Did you know a factory makes 1,600 to 2000 chocolate bars a day?

First the process begins with collecting the cocoa beans, then they sort out the beans. After this They dry the beans. This takes approximately a week. They ship the beans to a factory and the factory puts the beans into a machine which cracks the beans into small bits.

Now they take out the beans and mix it overnight in a machine at full speed. In the morning they put sugar in the now thick chocolate. It is then taken out and mixed again to make the particles small and to make it thicker. You want it to have small particles but you also need it to be round so it will come off the palate. Then this is repeated 3 more times.

The next thing they do is tempering . Tempering makes the chocolate smooth and glossy. Tempering is an important step because this keeps it from easily melting on your fingers. Tempering chocolate involves slowly raising and lowering the temperature of melted chocolate while constantly stirring. Then it is put into molds and vibrated to get rid of bubbles. Also chocolate should NEVER be kept in the fridge, even when the weather is warm. Instead, chocolate should be stored in a cool, dark cupboard, preferably at between 10 and 20 degrees C – with 15 degrees C being the perfect temperature.

Then they put the chocolate in a white box. This box transfers the chocolate into a wrapping machine. Now the chocolate is wrapped and ready to be given to stores.

Reading work T4W7

 Hi guys!

Today ill be sharing my Reading work with you. This week we had 8 books. We had to learn about how different artists create their work. How artists use a variety of materials, color and texture. We had (somewhat) 3 create tasks. First: write a summary of your story. Using only 4-5 sentences write a ‘snapshot’ that includes the most important details from the text. Next was to finish our calendar art then we could draw anything from art hub.  Anyhow here it is.

Thanks for seeing my blog post! See you in the next one! BYEE!

Fish Island

  Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you my writing work. I finally finished this story! It took me ages!!! This story is based on a pobble 365. If you don't know what that is, its a site where there are millions of different photos to write about and, well yeah. Anyway here it is.

Story starter

It was morning on Fish Island. Jessica yawned lazily and stepped out onto the sun-drenched porch outside her house. It was surely going it be the hottest day of the summer! Gently, she picked up the newspaper that had been recently delivered to her doorstep. The headline of the Fish Island Gazette read “Troubling Tremors Torment Townsfolk!” She frowned. Jessica and her neighbors in the nearby town had indeed been troubled for some time by the mysterious quakes that had been occurring more and more frequently. On one occasion, the tremors had been so strong that several tiles from her roof had fallen off, shattering as they narrowly missed Jessica’s daughter who had been playing in the garden. They seemed to be getting worse: it was becoming a serious concern for the inhabitants of the island.

Later that day, Jessica was holding her daughter’s hand as they paddled in the deliciously warm, crystal waters on the beach when she felt it: another tremor. Scooping up her daughter in her arms, Jessica ran up the beach, fear building in the pit of her stomach. This one seemed worse that the ones before. Panic set in. This was the worst so far. They seemed to be moving. Looking over her shoulder, she could see ripples forming in the ocean. They really were moving!

The picture

My writing

“Sam, can you go get the eggs from the barn?!”yelled Mum from the kitchen. “Ughh, yes mum…” Sam groaned. Sam walked out from the front door and walked inside the barn. A revolting fishy smell was sucked inside Sam's nose. Sam blocked his nose by holding it with his fingers. He quickly put the eggs in the basket and ran back home. “Mum! Something stinks outside!” he yelled as he placed the basket full of eggs on the table. All of a sudden everything started shaking.

“EARTHQUAKE!!!” yelled mum as she put her hands over her head. The eggs on the table shook and then fell off the table, leaving the cracked eggshells everywhere. Sam slid under the table and just like that the earthquake was over. “Oh god. Are you okay Sam?” Asked mum while she hugged her son tight. “Yeah I'm fine mum but what about the eggs?” Sam said to his mum while gently pushing her away. “I'll start to clean it up. You go to the canoes and maybe just go canoeing.” Mum told Sam. Sam nods his head and leaves. When Sam was leaving he could hear his mum saying, “This is the 5th time there's been an earthquake in this week!”

Sam sets up his canoe then starts to paddle in the warm and crystal water. Suddenly a gust of wind pushes Sam's canoe over with him inside it. Sam was yelling in the water thinking that someone would help him and shut his eyes and his hands were flying everywhere in the water. He decided to calm down and slightly open his eyes. He saw something gigantic that was grayish turquoise. He looked around and saw nothing else but rocks and knew that whatever this thing was, it was carrying Sam’s island with his home on its back. Sams’s eyes were now sore from the water so he shut them and swam up to the surface. Once he was on the surface he threw himself on to a side of the island where he lived. He climbed the hard rocks and was finally on top of the island.

Sam ran inside with his wet and heavy clothes. “Sam! There you are- OH MY GOSH! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DEAR?!”Sam's mum said as she dropped her cleaning cloth. “I fell into the water while canoeing..” Said Sam as he scratched the back of his neck. “Go and change your clothes Sam.” Mum said while she picked up the cloth that had fallen down. Sam nodded and changed his clothes. After changing his clothes he went to the computer and searched up ‘How to see clearly in the water.’There were millions of ways but Sam chose one. He found his old goggles and told his mum he wanted to go swimming. To Sam's surprise his mum said yes! He put on his swimming suit and went outside to go swimming.

Sam dove into the now milky turquoise water and swam under the water. That's when he realized that he was face to face with a tremendous fish. Its eyes were black and it looked like rot was forming on its body. How long had this fish been here?! Sam, still shocked, went up to the surface to take a deep breath. He went underwater and randomly tried to talk with the fish. He tries to talk to the fish but knows it wont work. “Fish can you hear me?” Sam said clearly. Sam was surprised, he could talk underwater! “Yes I can hear you.” Said a deep voice. Sam now had wide open eyes, the water wasn't going in his eyes anymore! “Why are there earthquakes all the time Mr. Fish?” Sam asked softly “I'm sorry. That's me, I need to move around! I can stay still for ever” The fish told Sam “Please do stop moving!” Sam said to the old fish. “I can stay still but I need one thing. 1 Egg. If you get me an egg I'll be still for the rest of my life!” Sam looked surprised but happy at the same time. He got out of the water and went to the barn.

Sam took an egg from the barn and jumped back into the water. He fed the fish and swam back up on the shore. Ever since that day there has never been an earthquake and Sam told his mum about the fish and kept him as a pet. The giant fish's name is..- “SAM GO GIVE GUMBA SOME FOOD!!!!!”

THE END

Thats it you guys! See you in the next one! BYEEE!

The Dare Writing

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you my writing work. Sadly I haven't finished it because this week I didn't have much time. This story is based on a pobble 365. If you don't know what that is, its a site where there are millions of different photos to write about and, well yeah. Anyway when I'm done with my writing I'll make sure to update it but here it is!

(The photo :D)

(My writing :D)

“Come on Harry!”said Charles as he ran into the woods. “Charles, do you really think we should do this?”Asked Harry questingly. Charles shook his head disappointedly and walked away. Pause, let's just stop right there. Hi, I'm Harry and this is my friend charles. We’re going into the woods to find out if a myth is really true. Listen there's this myth that if you go into the woods and go past a humongous rock that has a sign saying B̶͔̣͙̻͕̿̏̇̀͝E̷͓̓̅̊̇͘W̶̮̱̐A̵̧̱̪̮͓̺̎́̎̇̈́̕R̶̰̖̘͊͜Ȇ̷̘̫̹̈́͝ͅ you'll find a coin and if you rub it you shrink.. forever! I think it's quite silly and that it's just a myth but Charles thinks it's real. Did I mention that if it's true I'll have to rub it?! I still don't get it, it was his idea and I have to rub it?! Anyway let's get on with the story. “Charles! Wait up!!” Harry said while he sprinted towards Charles. He saw the enormous rock with the sign and Harry knew something bad was going to happen...

Harry could hear someone singing in the distance, he knew that sound. It was Charles' victory song… Harry walked near the sound and saw Charles dancing around. “Go on, Harry, rub the magic coin!”Charles said with a smirk.“Ha! Don’t be so silly! There’s no way that rubbing a stupid, old coin will make me shrink!” Harry laughed, Harry thought the coin would do anything to him. He rubbed it violently. Nothing happened. “I told you Charles! It doesn't work! It's just a myth!”Harry told Charles while sticking his tongue out. Harry marched away with Charles following him. Harry turned around to see a sad Charles walking with his head down. “Look I didn't mean to hurt your feelings but you shouldn't believe everything you hear.”Harry said kindly. Charles lifted his head and smiled, the two best friends walked out of the woods.

Later that evening, the dare was long forgotten, forgotten until midnight when everything changed…

Panda reading

 Hi guys!

This week for reading we had to pick a book from 7 books, we had 2 create tasks. Our first create task was to create a quiz on one of the animals from the book choices. Come up with 15-20 questions and write these out on a Google Doc. Transfer the questions onto either Google Slides or a Google Form (I choose google form). Then for our 2nd task we had to Compare and contrast two animals you have read about (I did red pandas and giant pandas). Use a Venn Diagram to write 5 similarities and 10 differences between the two animals. I wanted to do pandas because I don't know much about them and wanted to learn something new. One thing I learnt was that pandas take 10-16 hours to find and eat bamboo!

I also learnt something else! If you want to make to see the correct answers to your question on google forms all you have to do is this!

WALT to understand what we are reading by answering questions about a text.

1.

2.

3.

4.

And then you press on your question and at the bottom it'll come up as answer key and you just write the answer. Anyway here is my work! Also make sure to give my quiz a go!

Thanks for visiting my blog post and I hope you had fun with my quiz! See you in my next blog post! BYEEEEEEEEE!

Half Life

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing my writing with you. This story is about two paths, one with light and is full of light while the other one is dark and full of pollution. I hope you like my story!

As I run through a dark and gloomy forest I find myself in front of two paths. One path is full of life but the other one isn't. I go into the path that looks pretty much dead, I knew I could change it into something better.

I walk on the path and suddenly I hear a vulture screeching. ‘BOOM!’ It sounded like a bomb. I run through the path while shutting my eyes tight. I finally open my eyes and see people. They were walking like they were emotionless and lifeless. Their faces were gray, the grass wasn't green and I could feel the polluted air going inside my body. But then I see something glowing. It was the only color I could see.

I run towards it and touch it. It felt like I’d touched a rainbow. I grabbed it from its case and all of a sudden there was color

The people's frown turned upside down. Now there wasn't a gloomy path, it all led to the same thing… happiness

I ran out from the path and went on the left path. While I left the path I was on before, I met the old and wrinkled tree. My mum had told me that tree had been there even before she was born! I touched the tree with my sweaty hand and ran back home.

Thank you for reading my story! See you guys in the next blog post! BYEEEEE!!!

Writing Week 10

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing my writing work! This week since it the last week of Term 3, the teachers thought to make this weeks writing fun! So what we did was we had 9 task of writing to do and there were points on what type of writing you did. You need to get at least 12 points by completing the writing tasks. The more points the better! I've got 61 points! Also if we had finished every create task we could go back and do another one. Anyway here's my writing!

Maths for week 10

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you my week 10 math's stuff. This week it was actually different. Since it was the last of term the teachers thought It would be fun it mix it up a bit. This week we had nine different math's things we had to do and then we had to get 40 points. Not to mention we had extra for experts if we wanted to do that as well. (We got points for that and we also we had buddies 😁) For our buddies we had to do the same task BUT we had to work it out ourselves (And obviously we helped each other) I worked my questions in my book but we could have done it on slides. Also each task was 5 points and I got ___ points and  I forgot to mention that we could do this in any order. Anyway here is my stuff.

This first task is called: Dot to Dot. What we had to do was we had to draw the number of lines that can be used to join an different amount of dots. Here is my work:

The 2nd task I choose to do was called: Routes Investigation. What we had to do was to find a different routes from point A to a different letter. The lines had to be in a vertical or horizontal direction. Here it is.

The 3rd task I choose to do was called: Toothpick squares. What we had to do was to find out how many toothpicks would we need to make a pattern like this one.

Anyway here is my work.

The 4th task I choose to do was called: Ice-cream investigation. This was our challenge = 'The Ice cream stall sells chocolate, mint, lemon, strawberry and vanilla. How many different combinations can be created for a double cone? Triple cone?' So here is my working.

The 5th task I choose to do was called: Sally the Snail. This was our Challenge = 'Sally the Snail crawls 2cm each minute. She needs to rest at each dot for 5 minutes. She wants to take the shortest time to reach a plant. Which path should she take?' Here is my working.

The 6th task I choose to do was called: Fish task (This was a extra for experts task) This was the challenge. 'The head of a fish was 4cm long. The body of the fish is as long as the head and the tail together. The tail of the fish was as long as the head and half of the body. How long is the fish?' Here is my work.

The 7th task I choose to do was called: What the hidden message? (This was another extra for experts task) This is what we had to do: So there were different times on clocks and beside that clock there was a letter and when we found out what time it was we wrote in a secret letter thing. Here the photo of the task and my work.

The 8th task I choose to do was called: Paulo's Pizza. Here's the challenge = 'Paulo wanted everyone to have a quarter of a pizza at his birthday party. There was 16 people at the birthday party in total. How many pizza's would he need to order?' Here is my working out.

The 9th task I choose to do was called: Penny's Pizza. Here's the question: 'Penny's favorite pizza restaurant offers 6 toppings: ham, onions, mushrooms, pineapple, tomato and peppers.

Penny orders a pizza with ham and pineapple. Unfortunately the server only writes down that she wants 2 toppings but doesn't write down what they are. The cook decides to pick two toppings at random. How may pizzas might the cook need to make, in order to make the pizza penny wants.' Here was the challenge = 'How much pizzas will the cook have to make if there were 7,8 and 9 toppings? Is there a pattern?' Here is my work.

The 10th task I choose to do was called: Bus task. This was our task = 'A red bus left for the ruby match every 10 minutes. A blue bus left every 12 minutes. They both left together at 6pm. What time will it be when they both leave together?' Here is my task

Writing

Hi guys!

Kezia here. Today I'll be sharing my writing work today. We had to choose if we wanted to choose a picture or if we could make a random narrative story.  I choose a random narrative story .We also had to do a self assessment of our story to see if it was good or not. We had varies questions we had to answer and there were 4 different levels.  I think i'm a blue writer because My Narrative has an:  Introduction, Problem & Solution in paragraphs, including great word choices. Read my story and see if you agree with me.

It was a normal day at the office, everyone was working or going on big investigations. Oh expect for Gary Harper. Gary is the greediest police you could ever know of. He takes all the credit for something he didn't do, it's probably because the head chief makes him do cases with other people. But today is different! Today Gary is finally going to do a case by himself.

“WHAT?!” Yelled Gary making everyone look at him. “It's a crime case. A man is taking all the donuts so the police officers don't have any. Find him” Said the head chief. Gary walked away in disbelief and wondering how he can work by himself.

The day had arrived, it was the day Gary was starting his case. He's sitting in the security camera room looking at the screens waiting for someone to come. He tried hiring some other people to do it for him but eventually the chief found out.“This is boring.”Gary said while putting his hand on the table and laying his head on it. Gary looked at the screens and saw a man in all black leaving the shop, with donuts and the cashier yelling at him. Gary quickly gets up, runs downstairs, leaves the shop and gets into his car. He then realized that he didn't know how the car looked. Out of frustration he honks the car harshly.

The next week Gary was waiting in the same place as last week. He knew the guy wouldn't come everyday so he waited, and waited, until he heard shouting from downstairs. He quickly looked through the cameras and saw a car leaving while a man was chasing that car. He saw the number plate and wrote it down. “HRZ637”He quietly said to himself over and over again.

“Chief chief!” said Gary running into the office, “WHAT?! I'M IN AN IMPORTANT MEETING!”Yelled the chief.“I've found him!”Gary said in an excited voice. “Where is he?”asked the chief, getting out of his chair. “Um I don't have him?”Gary said while scratching the back of his head. “THEN FIND HIM YOU IDIOT!”The chief said while slamming the door on Gary.

The next day Gary tracked down the car with a device and found that he was going somewhere. He hopped into his car and followed the car.

3 HOURS LATER Gary had been following this car for 3 hours now. “When is this going to end??” Said Gary in a sleepy tone. He looked up to see where the car was going but nothing was there. “Wha-” Suddenly Gary crashed into a post making him pass out.

Gary rubbed his eyes and got up.“Where am I?”Asked Gary while looking around. There were doves flying everywhere and the trees were swishing back and forth. It was like a magical forest, actually that's what it was, a Magical forest. There was a humongous tree which had a small city on top of it. There were beautiful trees surrounding Gary. He walked until he found some fairies talking. One fairy turned around and looked at Gary.
“Gary! I was looking for you!”
 “You were?”
“Yes! Now can I trust you Gary?”
“Uh.. yeah sure.”
“Can you hold this?”

The fairy gave Gary $1,ooo,ooo check.

 “Gary use this wisely. Alright?”
“What am I meant to use it on?”
“Use it to help people. DON'T use it on yourself.”
POOF!
All of the magical forest disappeared and now Gary was back in his car driving. “RING RING!” Went Gary's phone.
 “Hello?”
 “Gary! You've found him!”
“What? Oh yeah! Yeah I found him!”
 “Come back to the station”

And just like that the chief cut the phone and now Gary was driving back to the station.

Ever since that day Gary has become a sweet and nice policeman. He even started his own police station. Gary used the money on donating to the poor and started charities. That's how Gary Harper became a nice police man.
