Hi guys!
Today I'll be showing you my week 10 math's stuff. This week it was actually different. Since it was the last of term the teachers thought It would be fun it mix it up a bit. This week we had nine different math's things we had to do and then we had to get 40 points. Not to mention we had extra for experts if we wanted to do that as well. (We got points for that and we also we had buddies 😁) For our buddies we had to do the same task BUT we had to work it out ourselves (And obviously we helped each other) I worked my questions in my book but we could have done it on slides. Also each task was 5 points and I got ___ points and I forgot to mention that we could do this in any order. Anyway here is my stuff.
This first task is called: Dot to Dot. What we had to do was we had to draw the number of lines that can be used to join an different amount of dots. Here is my work:
The 2nd task I choose to do was called: Routes Investigation. What we had to do was to find a different routes from point A to a different letter. The lines had to be in a vertical or horizontal direction. Here it is.
The 3rd task I choose to do was called: Toothpick squares. What we had to do was to find out how many toothpicks would we need to make a pattern like this one.
The 4th task I choose to do was called: Ice-cream investigation. This was our challenge = 'The Ice cream stall sells chocolate, mint, lemon, strawberry and vanilla. How many different combinations can be created for a double cone? Triple cone?' So here is my working.
The 5th task I choose to do was called: Sally the Snail. This was our Challenge = 'Sally the Snail crawls 2cm each minute. She needs to rest at each dot for 5 minutes. She wants to take the shortest time to reach a plant. Which path should she take?' Here is my working.
The 6th task I choose to do was called: Fish task (This was a extra for experts task) This was the challenge. 'The head of a fish was 4cm long. The body of the fish is as long as the head and the tail together. The tail of the fish was as long as the head and half of the body. How long is the fish?' Here is my work.
The 7th task I choose to do was called: What the hidden message? (This was another extra for experts task) This is what we had to do: So there were different times on clocks and beside that clock there was a letter and when we found out what time it was we wrote in a secret letter thing. Here the photo of the task and my work.
The 9th task I choose to do was called: Penny's Pizza. Here's the question: 'Penny's favorite pizza restaurant offers 6 toppings: ham, onions, mushrooms, pineapple, tomato and peppers.
Penny orders a pizza with ham and pineapple. Unfortunately the server only writes down that she wants 2 toppings but doesn't write down what they are. The cook decides to pick two toppings at random. How may pizzas might the cook need to make, in order to make the pizza penny wants.' Here was the challenge = 'How much pizzas will the cook have to make if there were 7,8 and 9 toppings? Is there a pattern?' Here is my work.
The 10th task I choose to do was called: Bus task. This was our task = 'A red bus left for the ruby match every 10 minutes. A blue bus left every 12 minutes. They both left together at 6pm. What time will it be when they both leave together?' Here is my task
