Writing Week 10

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing my writing work! This week since it the last week of Term 3, the teachers thought to make this weeks writing fun! So what we did was we had 9 task of writing to do and there were points on what type of writing you did. You need to get at least 12 points by completing the writing tasks. The more points the better! I've got 61 points! Also if we had finished every create task we could go back and do another one. Anyway here's my writing!

Maths for week 10

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you my week 10 math's stuff. This week it was actually different. Since it was the last of term the teachers thought It would be fun it mix it up a bit. This week we had nine different math's things we had to do and then we had to get 40 points. Not to mention we had extra for experts if we wanted to do that as well. (We got points for that and we also we had buddies 😁) For our buddies we had to do the same task BUT we had to work it out ourselves (And obviously we helped each other) I worked my questions in my book but we could have done it on slides. Also each task was 5 points and I got ___ points and  I forgot to mention that we could do this in any order. Anyway here is my stuff.

This first task is called: Dot to Dot. What we had to do was we had to draw the number of lines that can be used to join an different amount of dots. Here is my work:

The 2nd task I choose to do was called: Routes Investigation. What we had to do was to find a different routes from point A to a different letter. The lines had to be in a vertical or horizontal direction. Here it is.

The 3rd task I choose to do was called: Toothpick squares. What we had to do was to find out how many toothpicks would we need to make a pattern like this one.

Anyway here is my work.

The 4th task I choose to do was called: Ice-cream investigation. This was our challenge = 'The Ice cream stall sells chocolate, mint, lemon, strawberry and vanilla. How many different combinations can be created for a double cone? Triple cone?' So here is my working.

The 5th task I choose to do was called: Sally the Snail. This was our Challenge = 'Sally the Snail crawls 2cm each minute. She needs to rest at each dot for 5 minutes. She wants to take the shortest time to reach a plant. Which path should she take?' Here is my working.

The 6th task I choose to do was called: Fish task (This was a extra for experts task) This was the challenge. 'The head of a fish was 4cm long. The body of the fish is as long as the head and the tail together. The tail of the fish was as long as the head and half of the body. How long is the fish?' Here is my work.

The 7th task I choose to do was called: What the hidden message? (This was another extra for experts task) This is what we had to do: So there were different times on clocks and beside that clock there was a letter and when we found out what time it was we wrote in a secret letter thing. Here the photo of the task and my work.

The 8th task I choose to do was called: Paulo's Pizza. Here's the challenge = 'Paulo wanted everyone to have a quarter of a pizza at his birthday party. There was 16 people at the birthday party in total. How many pizza's would he need to order?' Here is my working out.

The 9th task I choose to do was called: Penny's Pizza. Here's the question: 'Penny's favorite pizza restaurant offers 6 toppings: ham, onions, mushrooms, pineapple, tomato and peppers.

Penny orders a pizza with ham and pineapple. Unfortunately the server only writes down that she wants 2 toppings but doesn't write down what they are. The cook decides to pick two toppings at random. How may pizzas might the cook need to make, in order to make the pizza penny wants.' Here was the challenge = 'How much pizzas will the cook have to make if there were 7,8 and 9 toppings? Is there a pattern?' Here is my work.

The 10th task I choose to do was called: Bus task. This was our task = 'A red bus left for the ruby match every 10 minutes. A blue bus left every 12 minutes. They both left together at 6pm. What time will it be when they both leave together?' Here is my task

Tongan reading work

Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing with you my reading work. We actually had to do not 1 but 2 create tasks! Our first task was to  create an animated glossary for the Journal Story/Article you have read. Your glossary should have a minimum of 10 words with their meanings. Our second task was to create a DLO introducing Tonga to tourists, including photos and  10 facts about the country. Show for our glossary I chose to use the learning tool 'Animaker' because that was the first animation tool that popped up into my mind. (Mrs. Lee said we couldn't use Google slides) I also used a learning tool called ' Piktochart' for my poster. Oh and here is the WALT for this week.

Writing

Hi guys!

Kezia here. Today I'll be sharing my writing work today. We had to choose if we wanted to choose a picture or if we could make a random narrative story.  I choose a random narrative story .We also had to do a self assessment of our story to see if it was good or not. We had varies questions we had to answer and there were 4 different levels.  I think i'm a blue writer because My Narrative has an:  Introduction, Problem & Solution in paragraphs, including great word choices. Read my story and see if you agree with me.

It was a normal day at the office, everyone was working or going on big investigations. Oh expect for Gary Harper. Gary is the greediest police you could ever know of. He takes all the credit for something he didn't do, it's probably because the head chief makes him do cases with other people. But today is different! Today Gary is finally going to do a case by himself.

“WHAT?!” Yelled Gary making everyone look at him. “It's a crime case. A man is taking all the donuts so the police officers don't have any. Find him” Said the head chief. Gary walked away in disbelief and wondering how he can work by himself.

The day had arrived, it was the day Gary was starting his case. He's sitting in the security camera room looking at the screens waiting for someone to come. He tried hiring some other people to do it for him but eventually the chief found out.“This is boring.”Gary said while putting his hand on the table and laying his head on it. Gary looked at the screens and saw a man in all black leaving the shop, with donuts and the cashier yelling at him. Gary quickly gets up, runs downstairs, leaves the shop and gets into his car. He then realized that he didn't know how the car looked. Out of frustration he honks the car harshly.

The next week Gary was waiting in the same place as last week. He knew the guy wouldn't come everyday so he waited, and waited, until he heard shouting from downstairs. He quickly looked through the cameras and saw a car leaving while a man was chasing that car. He saw the number plate and wrote it down. “HRZ637”He quietly said to himself over and over again.

“Chief chief!” said Gary running into the office, “WHAT?! I'M IN AN IMPORTANT MEETING!”Yelled the chief.“I've found him!”Gary said in an excited voice. “Where is he?”asked the chief, getting out of his chair. “Um I don't have him?”Gary said while scratching the back of his head. “THEN FIND HIM YOU IDIOT!”The chief said while slamming the door on Gary.

The next day Gary tracked down the car with a device and found that he was going somewhere. He hopped into his car and followed the car.

3 HOURS LATER Gary had been following this car for 3 hours now. “When is this going to end??” Said Gary in a sleepy tone. He looked up to see where the car was going but nothing was there. “Wha-” Suddenly Gary crashed into a post making him pass out.

Gary rubbed his eyes and got up.“Where am I?”Asked Gary while looking around. There were doves flying everywhere and the trees were swishing back and forth. It was like a magical forest, actually that's what it was, a Magical forest. There was a humongous tree which had a small city on top of it. There were beautiful trees surrounding Gary. He walked until he found some fairies talking. One fairy turned around and looked at Gary.
“Gary! I was looking for you!”
 “You were?”
“Yes! Now can I trust you Gary?”
“Uh.. yeah sure.”
“Can you hold this?”

The fairy gave Gary $1,ooo,ooo check.

 “Gary use this wisely. Alright?”
“What am I meant to use it on?”
“Use it to help people. DON'T use it on yourself.”
POOF!
All of the magical forest disappeared and now Gary was back in his car driving. “RING RING!” Went Gary's phone.
 “Hello?”
 “Gary! You've found him!”
“What? Oh yeah! Yeah I found him!”
 “Come back to the station”

And just like that the chief cut the phone and now Gary was driving back to the station.

Ever since that day Gary has become a sweet and nice policeman. He even started his own police station. Gary used the money on donating to the poor and started charities. That's how Gary Harper became a nice police man.

Thank you guys for reading my story! See you in the next blog post! Bye!!!
