Memory Writing

 Hi guys!

Today I'll be sharing my memory writing. We had to think what our highlight was at sockburn/wigram school. Then we had think what our favorite memory was, since I had only had been here for 2 years I had limited memory's. Everything I tried to think of a funny memory it always went to my old school. Anyway here is my writing :D.

Hi, my name is Kezia Binoy. I’m a year 6 going to Aidanfield next year.

I remember when I first came to the school. It was the year 2019. I was a teeny tiny 9 year old, confused and scared. I sat in a chair waving my mum and dad goodbye. I look to the side and meet my new friends.

A few months pass and then camp comes along. At camp there was a HUGE water slide, a rock climb, delicious food and much more. Before I knew it, the year was coming to an end and all my friends were leaving which meant I’d have to make friends. But then athletes  came and I did better than I thought, I had come first in sprints which meant I could go to zones! I was so excited because no one in our family had gone to zones, even my sister! When I went to zones I got 6th from 10 people! It was a very proud moment for me. Anyway I had read in the newsletter that we were getting new teachers, I was sad but also quite excited!

Finally 2020 came and I met my 2 new amazing teachers, Mrs Lee and Miss bunting, along with Mr Williams and the fabulous Mrs T. (don't worry Mr Williams I won't forget you.) I love all of you guys and will never forget you!

Thanks,

Kezia

Thanks guys for reading this! I hope to see you in the next one, BYEEEEEEEEEE!!

How to make chocolate

Hi guys,

Today I'll be sharing my writing work with you. This week we did explanation writing, we had 3 different explanation writings. I did how to make chocolate. It was a very interesting subject to learn about, i learned that Chocolate factories make 1,600-2000 chocolate bars a day. First we had to plan in our book and then we had to write in a google doc. Here it is!

WALT: We are leaning to write an explanation.

How to make Chocolate

Chocolate is something everyone loves. It's in milk shakes, candy bars, cookies and cereals. What makes chocolate into dark chocolate and milk chocolate? It's cocoa butter. Different cocoa butter changes milk into dark. Did you know a factory makes 1,600 to 2000 chocolate bars a day?

First the process begins with collecting the cocoa beans, then they sort out the beans. After this They dry the beans. This takes approximately a week. They ship the beans to a factory and the factory puts the beans into a machine which cracks the beans into small bits.

Now they take out the beans and mix it overnight in a machine at full speed. In the morning they put sugar in the now thick chocolate. It is then taken out and mixed again to make the particles small and to make it thicker. You want it to have small particles but you also need it to be round so it will come off the palate. Then this is repeated 3 more times.

The next thing they do is tempering . Tempering makes the chocolate smooth and glossy. Tempering is an important step because this keeps it from easily melting on your fingers. Tempering chocolate involves slowly raising and lowering the temperature of melted chocolate while constantly stirring. Then it is put into molds and vibrated to get rid of bubbles. Also chocolate should NEVER be kept in the fridge, even when the weather is warm. Instead, chocolate should be stored in a cool, dark cupboard, preferably at between 10 and 20 degrees C – with 15 degrees C being the perfect temperature.

Then they put the chocolate in a white box. This box transfers the chocolate into a wrapping machine. Now the chocolate is wrapped and ready to be given to stores.

Reading work T4W7

 Hi guys!

Today ill be sharing my Reading work with you. This week we had 8 books. We had to learn about how different artists create their work. How artists use a variety of materials, color and texture. We had (somewhat) 3 create tasks. First: write a summary of your story. Using only 4-5 sentences write a ‘snapshot’ that includes the most important details from the text. Next was to finish our calendar art then we could draw anything from art hub.  Anyhow here it is.

Thanks for seeing my blog post! See you in the next one! BYEE!

Fish Island

  Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you my writing work. I finally finished this story! It took me ages!!! This story is based on a pobble 365. If you don't know what that is, its a site where there are millions of different photos to write about and, well yeah. Anyway here it is.

Story starter

It was morning on Fish Island. Jessica yawned lazily and stepped out onto the sun-drenched porch outside her house. It was surely going it be the hottest day of the summer! Gently, she picked up the newspaper that had been recently delivered to her doorstep. The headline of the Fish Island Gazette read “Troubling Tremors Torment Townsfolk!” She frowned. Jessica and her neighbors in the nearby town had indeed been troubled for some time by the mysterious quakes that had been occurring more and more frequently. On one occasion, the tremors had been so strong that several tiles from her roof had fallen off, shattering as they narrowly missed Jessica’s daughter who had been playing in the garden. They seemed to be getting worse: it was becoming a serious concern for the inhabitants of the island.

Later that day, Jessica was holding her daughter’s hand as they paddled in the deliciously warm, crystal waters on the beach when she felt it: another tremor. Scooping up her daughter in her arms, Jessica ran up the beach, fear building in the pit of her stomach. This one seemed worse that the ones before. Panic set in. This was the worst so far. They seemed to be moving. Looking over her shoulder, she could see ripples forming in the ocean. They really were moving!

My writing

“Sam, can you go get the eggs from the barn?!”yelled Mum from the kitchen. “Ughh, yes mum…” Sam groaned. Sam walked out from the front door and walked inside the barn. A revolting fishy smell was sucked inside Sam's nose. Sam blocked his nose by holding it with his fingers. He quickly put the eggs in the basket and ran back home. “Mum! Something stinks outside!” he yelled as he placed the basket full of eggs on the table. All of a sudden everything started shaking.

“EARTHQUAKE!!!” yelled mum as she put her hands over her head. The eggs on the table shook and then fell off the table, leaving the cracked eggshells everywhere. Sam slid under the table and just like that the earthquake was over. “Oh god. Are you okay Sam?” Asked mum while she hugged her son tight. “Yeah I'm fine mum but what about the eggs?” Sam said to his mum while gently pushing her away. “I'll start to clean it up. You go to the canoes and maybe just go canoeing.” Mum told Sam. Sam nods his head and leaves. When Sam was leaving he could hear his mum saying, “This is the 5th time there's been an earthquake in this week!”

Sam sets up his canoe then starts to paddle in the warm and crystal water. Suddenly a gust of wind pushes Sam's canoe over with him inside it. Sam was yelling in the water thinking that someone would help him and shut his eyes and his hands were flying everywhere in the water. He decided to calm down and slightly open his eyes. He saw something gigantic that was grayish turquoise. He looked around and saw nothing else but rocks and knew that whatever this thing was, it was carrying Sam’s island with his home on its back. Sams’s eyes were now sore from the water so he shut them and swam up to the surface. Once he was on the surface he threw himself on to a side of the island where he lived. He climbed the hard rocks and was finally on top of the island.

Sam ran inside with his wet and heavy clothes. “Sam! There you are- OH MY GOSH! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DEAR?!”Sam's mum said as she dropped her cleaning cloth. “I fell into the water while canoeing..” Said Sam as he scratched the back of his neck. “Go and change your clothes Sam.” Mum said while she picked up the cloth that had fallen down. Sam nodded and changed his clothes. After changing his clothes he went to the computer and searched up ‘How to see clearly in the water.’There were millions of ways but Sam chose one. He found his old goggles and told his mum he wanted to go swimming. To Sam's surprise his mum said yes! He put on his swimming suit and went outside to go swimming.

Sam dove into the now milky turquoise water and swam under the water. That's when he realized that he was face to face with a tremendous fish. Its eyes were black and it looked like rot was forming on its body. How long had this fish been here?! Sam, still shocked, went up to the surface to take a deep breath. He went underwater and randomly tried to talk with the fish. He tries to talk to the fish but knows it wont work. “Fish can you hear me?” Sam said clearly. Sam was surprised, he could talk underwater! “Yes I can hear you.” Said a deep voice. Sam now had wide open eyes, the water wasn't going in his eyes anymore! “Why are there earthquakes all the time Mr. Fish?” Sam asked softly “I'm sorry. That's me, I need to move around! I can stay still for ever” The fish told Sam “Please do stop moving!” Sam said to the old fish. “I can stay still but I need one thing. 1 Egg. If you get me an egg I'll be still for the rest of my life!” Sam looked surprised but happy at the same time. He got out of the water and went to the barn.

Sam took an egg from the barn and jumped back into the water. He fed the fish and swam back up on the shore. Ever since that day there has never been an earthquake and Sam told his mum about the fish and kept him as a pet. The giant fish's name is..- “SAM GO GIVE GUMBA SOME FOOD!!!!!”

THE END

Thats it you guys! See you in the next one! BYEEE!
